Warm air is lighter so it rises as high as it can go – leaving cold air to collect at the floor. And when this occurs in your buildings, it’s costing you in wasted energy dollars, an uncomfortable environment, and overworked HVAC equipment.
The Equalizer is made in Ohio with parts sourced locally and globally. The Equalizer attaches to a commercial ceiling fan enabling it to produce a more powerful downward force of air.
When this vortex of hot air from the ceiling extends to the floor, it mixes with the cold air. This continuous cycling, or destratification, of hot and cold air equalizes the temperature to within 2–3 degrees from floor to ceiling.
Our approach to destratification means your thermostat activates the HVAC 30% less often. It means your system requires 30% less energy. In addition to a 30% lower energy bill, your HVAC equipment will function longer.
This smoke test shows the difference. The fan alone mounted at 14 feet, moves some air but not enough to force the air at the floor back up to the ceiling. Resulting in only a minimal effect on stratification.
However, the same fan mounted at 30 feet and equipped with the Equalizer creates a downward force strong enough to cycle the air at the floor back up to the highest ceiling spaces equalizing the temperature to within a degree or two from the floor to the ceiling. This effect observed through professional testing shows a 98% reduction in stratification.
After years of development, extensive field trials, laboratory testing by INTERTEK, and repeated verification by American Electric Power, we are able to offer an affordable and sustainable solution to the problem of temperature stratification.
In lab testing by Intertek, the authority on air handling equipment, a 56″ fan is 192% more effective when fitted with the Equalizer.

Equalizer arrives in quarter sections for efficient shipping and all components and fasteners are included. After a simple assembly, it easily connects to a 56″ fan with minimal disruption to your operations. It has no moving parts and uses no energy. You can expect a return on investment in months, not years.
NOTE: You may also benefit from the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s “Rule 179D”, the energy efficient commercial building tax deduction program, which grants a tax credit deduction of up to $5.81 per square foot of building space — which demonstrates at least a 25% reduction in energy consumption. (Building owners should consult a tax professional on this potential benefit.)
The Equalizer eliminates most stratification resulting in a 2°-3° temperature variance THROUGHOUT the space. Using traditional fans without the Equalizer leaves you with a variance of 5° PER EVERY THREE FEET of vertical height!
During the cooling cycle, that same hot air at the ceiling extends down to the thermostat level which then calls for more cooling. The overabundance of cold air causes a damp, muggy atmosphere and in some cases wet floors and moist merchandise.
Installing the Equalizer within your facility will reduce energy usage during the heating cycle by 30% and during the cooling cycle by 20%.
The Equalizer can become your best hedge against inflation.
In addition, a 500,000 sq. ft. building equipped with the Equalizer can reduce CO2 by an estimated 128.33 tons per year!
